Emily,
My baby girl, I love you so much that you have no idea! You are so much fun that I wish I had you at a much younger age. Your mother and I went through a lot to have you and it was all worth it. You are a very happy baby that just won’t stop smiling because of how much love you are given from everyone.
I’m traveling to Las Vegas today and it always scares me that something will go wrong. So, I wanted to write this letter in case something should happen and I’m not able to see you grow up. I know I’m just being silly but that’s okay.
You are the only thing that matters to me and one day when you have children you will know what I mean. When you grow older I want you to explore near and distant cities. I want you to live life and make your own path. Don’t be a follower! I want you to drink wine in Venice, Italy, play poker in Vegas and scuba dive in California just like your father did! Living life is why you are here! My dream is for you to go to NYU and experience a culturally rich place like New York. I want you to walk the Brooklyn Bridge and feel it magnitude like your mom and I did. When you are ready, settle down and make a family of your own but until then just keep exploring the world and enjoy the scenery. Life is about making decisions that turn out good or bad and then making better ones.
I love you,
Dad
P.S. Hopefully you never read this letter and I can just tell you everything when you’re older but I just wanted to be sure I left you something should it be my time.
